Coal Plants and You

Coal plants affect everyone – and not in a good way. The pollutants emitted from the plants contribute to high asthma rates, cause global climate change and contaminate lakes and streams. Coal plants use up precious water in the semi-arid West, and take away from the natural beauty of the area in which they are built.

Use the links below to find out how coal directly affects you. And no matter what groups you identify with, we all deserve to live in an environment that is clean and healthy. We all deserve to not have to worry about how the air we breathe will affect our well-being. And all of our children deserve to live in a world where glaciers still exist and the sky is still blue.

A coal plant built today will be in operation for another 40-60 years. Educate yourself on how coal plants affect you, and take action to stop the coal rush.
