WRA’s Nevada office promotes clean energy development and strives to reduce the environmental impacts of electricity production in the state. We advocate for clean energy investments in policy forums such as the Public Utilities Commission, the state legislature, and the Nevada Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Task Force. WRA also works in Nevada to promote urban water conservation. We encourage local environmental and public interest groups to become more engaged on conservation issues and help coordinate efforts among these groups. While the Nevada office is one of our newest, we have already helped to stop a major new coal-fired power plant that was proposed to be built outside of Gerlach, and we have worked with partners to produce a report on water conservation.
